What DANFE is and why it exists
DANFE stands for Auxiliary Document of the Electronic Invoice: the visual synthesis of the NF-e that accompanies goods and eases checking. It does not replace the NF-e — fiscal validity lives in the authorized XML — but it is the fastest way for a person to read the note. That is why generating DANFE online from the XML is a recurring need in shipping, receiving, and accounting.
A well-formed DANFE carries the 44-digit access key as text and barcode, the issuer and recipient panels, the tax calculation, and the product list. What the XML needs to generate DANFE online
The ideal file is the nfeProc: the complete XML that joins the NF-e and the authorization protocol. From it come the access key, the protocol number, and the authorization date shown in the header. An XML with only the NFe content also lets you generate DANFE online, but the protocol field may be empty if it is not in the file. Files carrying the digital signature element are accepted normally.
Other fiscal documents — CT-e, NFS-e, or cancellation events — are not accepted: the tool checks the structure before generating the document and warns when the XML is not a product note. In that case, the generic XML to PDF converter remains available.
Privacy and limits
